Thoughts on this, besides itís propensity to devour the go go juice

Is an emulsion tube supposed to have that many massive holes in it?

They are usually far less holes and much smaller?

Thatís the needle, which is doubled up as a kind of emulsion tube...Iíve never seen one like this before,it looks fucking cool....and seems to work pretty well too

never seen that before, wonder how its supposed to work??

Re: Fcr carb needle

It's a much better design for the needle jet, because instead of the fuel entering the venturi at just the bottom/outer edge, where the inlet charge velocity is at its lowest, the fuel enters more evenly and is much better distributed throughout the inlet charge, and better atomised as a result
It's probably designed to lower emissions as much as it is to improve performance.

Yoshi did a version of it, but the holes were much smaller and only at the sides of the jet.

Video if it working here:

And a write-up on it here:

Wine .hiccup. It reminds me of what Suzuki attempted with tscc. It's about atomising the charge . Ie a more potent and efficient mix entering the chamber giving more power for less charge. Increased ponies :-)

Re: Fcr carb needle

Thatís a good vid, wonder how efficient mine is the way itís been drilled though...seeing as itís got holes directed at the ports aswell as the cross section, plus the accelerator pump at partial throttle. The Yoshi one looks very effective, even with slight opening thereís a nice even mist ....very cool stuff, looks like this carb may have been bored out too,Iíll have to measure it more accurately. Specíd as an Fcr41mx but looking to be around 43mm...

Re: Fcr carb needle

Not too sure about the holes facing against the flow of the carb , might upset flow at high revs as the fuel needs to be dragged out and not pushed into the needle. Its a mad set up , has it still got a main jet ? Or how are these tuned ? Also it dose look bored out .

Re: Fcr carb needle

Has a main jet but thereís no holes in the brass tube,so thatís all being controlled by the needle. Stripped it down and put it through the ultra sonic cleaner yesterday to try cure a stalling issue....lots of green shite built up from standing up for over a year and a slight blockage in one of the smaller jets so hopefully thatíll cure it
