Fold in mirrors?

So my old sv650s had mirrors that folded back. My current zx6r 636 (2005) seems to have fixed mirror stalks. I'll be likely moving house with a tight side entrance so will likely need mirrors pulled in or something similar.

Any reccomedations?

You sure they are not just stiff and difficult to fold in?

Re: Fold in mirrors?

They don't fold. The arm is secured with a bolt and if I pull the arm in, it has the same effect of tightening the bolt more. When I push the mirror back out it losses the bolt and the arm can come loose.
The mirror itself on the arm just has adjustment movement. Not enough to pull a mirror in flush.

Loosen and grease the bolt on one side. Works fine for my 900RR; tight enough that it doesn't fold in the wind, loose enough that I can fold it without damaging anything

Could try fitting different mirrors, I had a zx6r 2004model fairly sure that the mirrors folded down bud.

Maybe other Kawasaki mirrors would fit easily, my old Ninja 250 mirrors moved so that was a 2008+ model.

Re: Fold in mirrors?

I've taken the mirrors off and done the grease job on one side of the washer and no affect. Then I push or pull in the stalk, the nut/bolt moves and either loosens it or tightens it.
This is a problem with mirrors that are adjusted from the stalk connection and the mirror housing itself.
On my old SV, the stalk piece was locked in place and could be popped in or out, the actutal mirror itself was adjustable only.
I hope I am making sense here lol.
