» MotoGP: WorldSBK bosses confirm points for all races in 2019
Dec 11, 2018 - 3:00 PM - by Admin
WorldSBK bosses have confirmed that points will be awarded for all three weekend races in 2019 but the Superpole race will not be included in any records and historical data.

Superbikes change from four to three free practice sessions, meaning Friday will revert back to two WorldSBK Free Practices. WorldSSP on track action will remain the same, whilst WorldSSP300 will be split into two groups with two free practice sessions for each group. The final times from... [Read More]

» Insurance - Multi Bike
Dec 11, 2018 - 11:23 AM - by Otischop
Currently with AXA, have emailed but no response and thought I'd be quicker getting an answer here...

Many on here with 2 or more bikes? If so with AXA? and if you have 2 bikes insured was it a big jump? I know the one not being driven would be insured as fire/theft if left at home etc. The other would be fully comp while driving, I know it'd depend on the second bike and how expensive it'd be/cost of insuring.

So essentially, is it straightforward enough to get a second bike insured?

Talking with an equally aged Old Fart, reminiscences revealed that back in the late nineteen-fifties to early nineteen-sixties, his Dad had an old brit combo, and that when the father was riding along through inclement weather, the Old Man would make a gesture with his left hand, patting it in under his right armpit as other riders approached and passed by Ö this being a form of mutually recognised motorcyclist signal of the times, understood as a stoic acknowledgement of the common sufferance of the state of shitty-wet-weatherness.

» Getting chrome removed
Dec 10, 2018 - 10:56 AM - by sharpbikes
Looking to get some naff chrome removed from a set of R1 rims, USA import and the wheels look naff, some of the chrome is lifting but not enough to peel it all off, dont really want to be buying massive amounts of hydrochloric acid or shot blast through the rim, anyone know of a place in ireland that can remove chrome? also a little ding in the front rim i need to get straightened (not leaking but unsightly). Have tried Manly chrome in meath and they had no interest in touching it as they dont do "decorative chrome" which bugs me as i dont want it put on.........

Wondering if anybody has used / is using this ?

The previous owner of my bike recommended it for downloading a range of custom maps for the bike (675 Daytona). I'm interested in using it to try to read a fault code - as it claims to be able to do that.

Freeware - so just needs the cost of a proper comms cable. Had a look at the online user manual for setup and operating instructions but doesn't seem the easiest thing in the world to use..

» Buying a Motorcycle without V5 Log Book
Dec 08, 2018 - 2:19 PM - by yam20yam
Iíve just stumbled into a situation and Iím looking for someone who can help me with a advice.
Iím looking to purchase a motorcycle from an auction in Bristol UK, now the motorcycleis listed without V5 logbook(was probably lost or stolen) Iíve contacted DVLA (Driver and Vehicle Licensing ) and they told me that I have to apply for an export certificate in order for me to register the bike in Ireland,(which will take 4 weeks to receive it), but what I donít know is, if the bike has no V5 can I bring it in Ireland? and then wait for the export certificate? Will I need the V5 log book when I bring the bike on the ferry? The only paper work I will get with the bike is probably a receipt from auctioneer. Thanks

» Crash Camera - do you?
Dec 05, 2018 - 11:22 AM - by Popcorn750
Do any of you use a crash camera, not just to document the odd spin out or to show how quick you can go in a straight line but for the purpose of documenting your daily commute if an accident happens (with or without your involvement).
I do, I find it useful given that it was helpful in a conviction against a ar*ehole drunk driver who slammed into me. Another driver had it in their car. Its also for piece of mind to know if anything does happen then the camera doesnít lie.

I do find that my daughter puts it on her bicycle sometimes to record her wheel going round & round..or its tied to the dog to get his view on the world.

» Do insurance companies have to insure you if you switch bike
Dec 04, 2018 - 2:04 PM - by seano
I'm kind of stuck in a rut at the moment, I made the mistake last year of getting insured as a named rider under my dad for the sake of cheaper insurance not realising no insurer counts named riding experience. I'm looking for something to start out on my own insurance, that will also be handy at trackdays and I'm thinking an RC390 only they are impossible for me to insure as no one will even quote me. I'm thinking of two things, either insure a 125 and change insurance (do they have to quote me if I change bike once insurance has started?) or I know with policy last year main rider had 3rd party cover on any bike but this may not apply to me being only 19. It's annoying I rode all summer on a Tiger 800 and last winter on a bros 400 and now can't get insurance on a smaller bike because I... [Read More]

Dec 03, 2018 - 11:05 PM - by stephenryan2525
Did my valves 2 days ago (first time) on a bandit 6 and been perfect until today where after I gave it a bit of a beating I now hear a rattle at idle. I've been told it's probably the cam chain/tensioner which got me thinking. We're supposed to rotate the crank clockwise when doing valves but I rotated them by the wheel anti-clockwise a little bit.
It's too coincidental that only now it's happening but it was running amazing for two days
So is my timing shagged?
Is it doing damage by riding until the weekend?
