A rear stand while ticking over and the
Rear wheel is spinning while ticking over.

Is this a sign you may need a new
Chain and sprockets soon enough ?
What you guys think ???

» CB500 rear wheel spacers, help! where does no.3 go?
Mar 24, 2018 - 4:24 PM - by patod02703
Ok, boys and girls...have a 97 CB500, with rear disc brake.
Rear wheel was cosmetically challenged, so found a good one on E-Bay Germany.(Ä25, plus Ä15 shipping, also got cush drive rubbers and cables cheap from the same people)
Also decided to replace the 8 and 11 year old BT45's with a set of Michelin Pilot Sports in 110/70 and 130/70. (Ebay France Ä85, +Ä17 shipping)
Now its time to replace the rear wheel, but am having a senior moment re: the spacers, of which I have 3, 2 of which are all but identical skinny ones and one fat one. I'm 99% sure that the fat one goes on the sprocket side, and one of the skinny ones on the disc side.
And the remaining skinny one goes where? From looking at parts diagrams it looks like it goes behind the sprocket carrier, but... [Read More]

I'm out of the bike bits market a fairly long time. - Where's a good place to buy stuff like that online now?

Google brought me to powerbronze but they look a bit garish, and the website looks like it dates back to 2006 itself...

I think I want a colour matched one (blue) but maybe a faux carbon fibre one would actually be better. Unless the blue was an exact match it could look sh1te.

Anyone have any experience with the above jocks? Need a cheap but decent jocks til the end of the cold weather at least and these seem reasonably priced. Even better if I can hold onto it for awhile. I know oxford make decent chargers, hand warmers etc but haven't a clue about their textiles.

Mar 23, 2018 - 8:55 AM - by Phaedrus
A friend hit a wall last night while avoiding a cage that pulled out in front (illegal U-Turn). Instant knee-jerk response - not optimal, but hindsight, etc...

Cager initially drove off but did actually stop and come back. GardaŪ and ambulance called, friend in hospital now with aches & pains, CT shows no damage to neck or head. Gear was cut off, bike in a jock.

What now? Anyone been there/done that?

» 2018 TT launch: Hutchinson remains unsure over fitness
Mar 22, 2018 - 12:00 PM - by Admin
Honda’s Ian Hutchinson remains unsure whether he will be sufficiently recovered from his Isle of Man TT crash last year to line up on the Glencrutchery Road in 2018.

Click the image to open in full size.

The Bingley rider, who replaced John McGuinness in the team for this year, still has his left leg in an external fixator as surgeons continue to try and lengthen the bone but the process is proving a slower one than before.

» " I'll put slicks on a Stock 1000 if I have to " - Dunlop
Mar 22, 2018 - 8:59 AM - by Admin
Michael Dunlop insists he will race in the Superbike and Senior TT races in 2018 even if he has put slicks on a Superstock bike and use that.

The Ballymoney man split with Steve Hickenís Hawk Suzuki squad last week after testing in Cartagena and is now looking for a Superbike to race in the two big TT races this year but, in typical Dunlop style, is completely relaxed and in no rush whatsover.

ďIím in the shit at the minute! I had a good relationship with Steve and the boys but it didnít work out, itís one of those things,Ē said Dunlop, speaking at the TT launch in Douglas.

ďI need a Superbike and I need to get it sorted soon enough but there are a few weeks left and Iím not in any big panic, I can have a go on anything. If I have to turn up on... [Read More]

filtering on the left this morning past a van and he slowed to let a cage turning right thru, I couldn't see it and he was sitting waiting for the cage to take me out. Stopped in time and turned to see a very disappointed driver

this has happened a load of times over the past few yrs, are people really setting up bikes/cyclists to get creamed just so they can sit and watch it? one woman told me "well you shouldn't be there..."

what is wrong with people these days??

» Petrol leak
Mar 19, 2018 - 4:27 PM - by sub zero
How's it going lads?

Hope someone can help me with this problem. I have a Honda CBR 250 MC22 here that I'm trying to get running - it's been off the road for a year now and I tried to start it up earlier. It started handily enough thank feck but then I noticed there was petrol pissing out of somewhere. Thought I didnt have a hose connected properly or something.

I had a look to see if I could spot where it was coming out of but drew a blank - to me there looked like multiple drops from around the carbs. Question is if anybody here has had similar issues and knows what might be up? Fairly stuck here so hopefully someone can help!

Thanks lads

Hey lads, has anybody the ProtectTint version of the Pinlock visors (like this one)?

They're supposed to be photochromic and adjust really quickly to changes in light.
How do they perform at night / tunnels? They're not cheap so... it'd be great to get an opinion from someone that's already used them.

Mar 18, 2018 - 11:32 PM - by scorpy
Lads the CR was a pig running into corners last time out. As soon as the throttle was shut to get on the brakes it was pulsing and surging with higher revs than at idle. Eventually it would settle to an even idle but I'd have to clutch it or come off the throttle really early to stop her pushing me wide or giving a pulse to the rear while leaned over.

It was about 1 degree which I reckon it has never been run at before, so probably lean. Would a lean pilot jet cause the surging on a trailing throttle? Or is it just an air screw issue?
