» 2018 Macau GP: Hickman takes pole by 1min.10s
Nov 16, 2018 - 1:41 AM - by Admin
Peter Hickman claimed pole position for Saturday’s 52nd Macau Grand Prix with a superb lap of 1’23.904s on the Aspire-Hoe by Bathams Racing BMW in Friday’s second qualifying session putting him over a minute clear of the competition with team-mate Michael Rutter with Martin Jessopps (on the Ucumnow Group Ducati) joining him on the front row.

» 2000 Varadero xl1000 brake light problem
Nov 14, 2018 - 7:31 PM - by N1ghtr08d
Alright lads, so I have a Honda Varadero XL1000 and it recently developed a weird problem. The taillight works fine when the lights are on but the brake light doesn't work whether the lights are on or off.
I've replaced the bulbs with brand new ones and I've checked the fusebox under the seat and the fuses are all good. I recently replaced the rear turn signals with new LED ones and I soldered in proper resistors to balance the load and they all work fine and there is no loose wiring around/behind the brake light assembly.
I have no idea what may be going wrong, can anyone please help?

» Fixing rubber seal on helmet?
Nov 14, 2018 - 2:49 PM - by Caffeine
The rubber seal trim thing running on top of my schuberth c3 helmet's visor, to stop water from going in, has developed a hole in the middle.

I've tried a number of things, including superglue (baaad idea...) but none last or seal. What the hell can I put there that will work (I can ride in the rain for hours)

» pinlock fogging
Nov 14, 2018 - 2:01 AM - by efanton
Getting home tonight was a bugger. Water got into the helmet and the pinsert fogged up. Only about an inch across the top of the pinsert was clear, just enough to get me home at a very sedate pace.

Took a good look at the helmet once I got home and the pinsert is not fitting flush with the visor the whole way round. for about 2 inches there's a very slight gap will will allow either water to get in or your breath to fog it up.

Is there any trick that I can use to fix this, or prevent fogging in the future.

putting a seam of vaseline around the edge came to mind, or applying bit of heat to warp the pinsert slightly so that its pushing against the visor.

The helmet is about a year old, Schuberth C4, and I would have thought that a... [Read More]

Nov 12, 2018 - 6:33 PM - by motojojo
Well lads,
Finally bought myself a bike, only problem I'm facing now is the cheapest insurance is liberty and they need proof of restriction of the bike before they'll insure me, A2 licence, the joy of being 22...

Anybody gotten a bike restricted? Recommend any garages? I've seen a serious amount of people saying get a certificate off Ebay and shite like that but I've the test in about 3 months so it wouldn't break my heart having it restricted for the winter sure.

Cheers for any replies.

Anyone know if after having importing and re-registering a bike, can you change the reg from say 73 LK xxx to ZV xxx or vice versa?
Is it a case that once the reg has been applied then it cannot be changed?
Wondering if anyone ever tried this?

Hi all. Have an itch to get a husky 701 or a ktm 690, plan would be to build it into a rally style bike over time as funds allow. Idealy a 701 with the newer engine but open to whats i find. Any opinions or thoughts are welcome. Anyone here have/had one? Im kinda lookn for a do it all, road and offroad, and i do realise that it will be found wanting on longer road runs, and might be a bit heavy off road but i tried i f800gs, which i liked but the itch is still there....

Hey guys I have a 2003 sv650. After the really heavy rainfall last Wed I turned the ignition on, i heard the fuel pump but when I pressed the start button it was completely dead. I think I figured out the problem I took the clutch switch out and put a piece of wire in between the 2 connections and the bike started no problem. Is there any issue bypassing the clutch permanently on the sv (I thought I read somewhere it might be if you have fuel injection which the 2003 model is but can’t remember exactly &#128580 . I tried using contact on the connections as well. Also I am aware that the bike will now start even in gear, any help welcomed 👍

Nov 10, 2018 - 2:17 PM - by BIvy
A host of Irish riders will converge on Macau in south China for the 52nd running of the famous road race, which gets underway next week. Magherafelt man Paul Jordan will make his debut at the event on the Dafabet Devitt Racing Kawasaki, when he will be joined by fellow Macau Grand Prix newcomer Dominic Herbertson.

The pair both rode for the team at the Ulster Grand Prix after Ivan Lintin was ruled out for the remainder of the season, with the Lincolnshire man suffering serious injuries in a crash at the Southern 100, which sadly claimed the life of James Cowton. Saintfield’s Davy Morgan will also return to the Far East for the seventh time on his DM71 BMW, while southern Irishmen Derek Sheils (MGM by Penz13 BMW) and Michael Sweeney (MJR BMW) will be aiming for... Float heights 99%
Throttle back set on butterfly
Correct slack on throttle cables.
Carb Sleeves set 0.6mm up from closed
Needle clip at mid position 3 of 5
Jets 2 years old ish - running fine.
The idle screw is backed out loose.

Started fine after a few turns after being apart for nearly a year. rough though.. so the plan was to do the timing. Boyer fitted.

Just want to know if anyone has gone through the process of getting the A learner permit after holding a full A2 license for 2 years.

I've been looking at the NDLS website and I'm assuming that I'm going to be following what they wrote on documentation needed for adding a category to a learner permit. I've not seen anything else in terms whats needed to get the permit. If anyone has any experience of this and could give me a more definite answer than whats on the NDLS site that would be brilliant.

The link below is what I've found in terms of adding the category, I'd assume I'm going to be fine with what they wrote or is there more I need to consider?
