» Michelin Tyre cashback....
Sep 20, 2017 - 12:07 PM - by evertel
Just a headsup that there's 35euro cashback on a set of Michelin Power RS or any of the Pilot Road 4's if you buy before the end of the month.
Got a set of PR4's last weekend in Cotters and was handed the flyer for the offer.
You have to give them your iban and bic numbers and a scan of the receipt, and then they'll lodge it to your account in a few weeks.
Big finicky and lets see if it actually arrives, but worth a try if youre in the market for a new set and those model's suit.

» Bike trousers reccomendation
Sep 19, 2017 - 5:49 PM - by redking
Hey there, I'm new enough to the biking scene, only had a few lessons so far. I just wanted some opinions on what to get for some protective trousers.
I wore kevlar jeans and they seemed fairly restrictive and not to my liking.
What would be a more freely moving and if possible waterproof solution?

Sep 18, 2017 - 10:24 PM - by hornethead
Hey all,

Just a heads up to be careful of the ol deer out and about at the moment, one jumped out on me last night in the 4 wheeler and well and truly made shit of it, never seen so many panels and lights damaged. Thankfully his hair was still on the unmentionble so they believed me it was a deer, as he ran off afterwards, those antlers do some damage!

Thing is, it was the N81 out towards blessington, a very popular biking road , one i use very weekend on the bike, just be careful and aware they are out and about.

» Different clutch issue
Sep 18, 2017 - 9:52 PM - by scorpy
Seems to be all the rage so....

Shovelhead with a hydraulic conversion for the clutch. Drags a bit sometimes and neutral is a bugger to find. I've heard that the hydraulic system is supposed to be self adjusting and I haven't messed with a HD clutch before.

Will a good cleaning of the plates help? Can I actually adjust anything?

She's due an oil change. I have no idea if the primary oil and the transmission are separate or joined on this particular shovel but with the dry clutch, that wouldn't seem to be an issue.

This lad got thrown into jail in the UK for pulling a few wheelies

http://news.sky.com/story/biker-pawe...on-m6-11042273

Bit of overkill i think from the UK cops. They wouldn't be as quick to throw a cage driver in jail for using a mobile whilst driving which is obviously more dangerous.

Picked up an SV650 production twin last week. Hoping to start racing next season!
The bike I bought has an upgraded front brake master cylinder, the lad I bought it off said they updated the regs during the season to allow for this. Had a look online and can't see anything, is this the case? Just want to be sure everything is above board

» Clutch issue...
Sep 17, 2017 - 10:28 PM - by johnny b
Has anyone come across an issue like this before?

I have adjusted this clutch every which way between the main adjustment and at the lever but can not get it perfect.

So far I have changed the clutch friction plates and springs with new Ebc plates with no difference.

Basicaly if I adjust the clutch to bite earlier in on the lever releasing then I knock it into first it creeps forward and cant get nuetral until the engine is off.

If I adjust it to bite later in the lever the creeping in first disapears and I can select neutral no problem.
The difference is that the clutch slips at higher revs when adjusted this way.

The problem is I cant get it not to do both...
Its either creeping at low revs or... [Read More]

» 2017 Scarborough Gold Cup: Race weekend preview
Sep 15, 2017 - 5:50 PM - by Admin
Next weekend sees the final road race of the domestic season with the 67th Steve Henshaw International Gold Cup taking place at Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough. And having dominated proceedings around the woodland venue for the last two and a half seasons, it would take a brave man to bet against Dean Harrison.

The Silicone Engineering Kawasaki rider has swept all before him at the 2.43-mile venue, including winning all the major trophies and claiming a new outright lap record earlier this year. He’s won the Gold Cup for the last two years and will be aiming to make it a hat-trick in Sunday’s feature 8-lap race.

However, he can expect a number of stiff challenges, none more so than from Michael Dunlop. Although Scarborough isn’t one of his... [Read More]

Sep 14, 2017 - 11:33 AM - by Scobyobrien
Well, decided to sell the CBF500a I've enjoyed for the last 6 years and got myself a NC700x. Unfortunately it wont let me upload the pic of her.

Originally went to bike world, just to look around. Got chatting & talking and trade in for my bike was 2,000. (I was offered the same from them two months ago too). They brought it in to check it out and then dropped price to 1,600 saying it would cost them 400 for a front tyre and chain & sprockets, but they would go back up to 1,700(as if it was a favour). Anywho, I think my mind was made up there straight away that I didn't want to give them money as they were trying their best to fuck me over as it felt like it was a burden on them to take my bike. Long story short, I was told to go upstairs to get prices on... [Read More]

The shed is a 10' 12' so the panels are big enough (12' 8' side walls) so a small trailer wont do. I will provide the muscle for the loading/unloading. Anyone local albe to help me out?
