Default Off road riding places

Can anyone recommend place to go offroad riding within 1hr of Dublin? I have a motocross bike but dont want to race, just enjoy some weekend fun.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would be interested in hearing from other riders in the same boat who like me just head out and have blast.

I used to just have a sneaky little look around then fly into opne of the fields near me gaff.
Was in one field years ago on a KMX 125 and I gave some little fella a go of the bike and he started going for the cows. Farmer wasnt to happy about that. Had to make a hasty retreat lol.

There's always a few bikes head up into the hills from the "Blue Light" pub on a sunday morning.
I met a kid with a KTM that told me there's an "unnoficial" track that runs all the way from Shankill to Tallaght. Yet to trace it out though.
Weekends you'll alway's hear plenty of action from the old army rifle range to the west of 3 rock all the way over to Kilmashogue as well.
Have a gander and chat with a few heads would be my advice.

(Then come back here after you've done all the spadework and let us know so as we can give it a blast as well

Thumbs up Thanks

Thanks everyone for the kind welcome and information.
Its reassuring to know that there are genuine people left in this society that will help a person out. I just wanted to pass on the only two spots i knew of up until these posts.

1. Forrest area - Take N81 past Tallaght towards Baltinglass to Brittas. At the Blue Gardenia (Pub) turn left. Follow this road (dont get sidetracked by the off shoots-stay on the road) About 5 mins along this road you will see a forrest track on the RHS with the yellow and black bars and a small parking space. Take the next right. This will take to the back of the trail you saw originally. Its a great are but unfortunately there are no jumps.

2. Old hare & hound track - opposite Curragh Golf Course. Travelling from Dublin on the N7 dual carriageway, it links to the M7 motorway north of Naas town. Continue along the M7 and take Exit 10 at the junction for the Curragh Camp. Immediately on exit take the first left at the roundabout.
This place is excellent if you have Kids with bikes as it is very open. Its kinda like a big speedway with a track section through the middle.

I hope this helps everyone!
