Default Weiler Matador 3-phase metal lathe

The place I work for is selling this metalworking lathe and I wondered if anyone on here has any interest in it.

First off its three phase so don't read any further if thats a problem. It is a floorstanding machine with three and four jaw chucks. The original version of this machine came with a quick release collet set which is no longer with it.

It has a two-axis DRO and everything works on it - it has had 20-30 hours work in the last five years and I can't find anything to fault it, mostly it has been used to fabricate small plastic (nylon or polycarbonate) assemblies.

If you are interested, you have some way of collecting in the centre of Galway or you want to see it working, drop me a pm. I can't get near the data plate at the back - from memory it dates from the mid-eighties and it is in very good condition. I don't know the motor rating but it is likely to be pretty low even though its 3-phase (1.5kw?)

No its not restricted, no I'm not filling Hugo's template, no its not Irish registered, its never been crashed or used for a trackday and the asking price is 1750 but I will give generous discount for a quick sale.

I'm selling it to make space for two desks and it doesn't get enough use. What dimensions do you want - footprint and height? Bed length and chuck bore?

The footprint plus the height to work out if it will fit where I have in mind, and the info from the data plate. I know you said it is at the back but I would need a picture of it too sorry.
Cheers.

You can get a phase converter. They work okay for low loads, buy would add about 600 Euro

Or you could fit a single phase motor - I'm half tempted to keep it but I don't have space.

Thanks Brendan, I'm not easily insulted. I can't give it away just yet, I won't say how low I can go but it isn't that low. Do you have access to a vehicle with a taillift which can collect it? I'll give you a call on Thursday morning and see if we can't strike a deal.

Thanks all - by all means check the machine out, I'll supply tea and biscuits. I have a couple of gallons of fresh coolant to go with it as well...

Its a lifetime of turning, drilling and threading for less than the price of a ratty CD175, I'm an inventor not a metal basher - I have no idea about its specifications but I just used it to make the number plate lights for my Gixxer. I'd love someone who is going to use it to buy it and I will sell it to the first person who shows up with cash.
