Hi folks!
Just a quick question for any of the electrically minded people... My 00 GSXR 750 died on me the other day, and it turned out to be a problem with the generator/stator. It were well fried! Today I got me hands on another one, but from a 05 GSXR 1000 and it fitted perfectly, but did'nt get me anywhere closer to having a bike I could start! As soon as I hit the starter button, lights and dash went out and battery dead. Anyone have any ideas? Cheers, Dave. |

Surley the battery was dead alreadly, try jumping from another battery, It sounds like when the Coil is pulling in its draining the Battery, that almost dead. I had CBR troubles with charing and even though the charing system if Fu@ked it still started and ran because the battery was suppling the trickle charge instead on the generator, hope this helps,

No, the battery was fully charged when I put it in. Anyways, got it sorted! From what I can gather is was the reg/rec, as I changed that out and hey presto!!! Thanks anyway Mr Fixxer!

Turns out I did'nt get it as sorted as I would have liked! Fuckin bike shit itself on the M50 this morning and did'nt want to go anywhere! Martin from the Motorcycle recovery service jump started it went we got it back here and tested the battery voltage which was only 10.28 even when revved. Will have to figure out how to use a multimeter and see whats going on! Perhaps the 05 gsxr 1000 genny isnt the direct replacement I thought it was!!!
Cheers, Dave. |

find your starter relay and chech the fuse or to elimate a starter button problem get a screwdriver and join the terminals on the starter relay and if it works then you know its either the relay or the button
