Default Ulster Grand Prix

Looks like MD won't be at Dundrod this weekend.
Lots of rumors about his future, must be tough for him and his family.
https://www.bbc.com/sport/northern-i...ource=bookface
Hopefully we have a good weekend and everyone gets to go home.

He is his own man and we should not expect him to perform at our whim.

To my mind, he is the greatest and most skillful road racer ever, and whatever he decides does not change that...... just look at the state of his tyres after one of his wins at the TT this year, can't rememnber which class, but you or me wouldn't have been able to get to the shops on them hoops.

Wristbands 30.00
Programems 10.00
Car parks 10.00 bike park 5.00

Last thing MD or any of them need to be doing is competing if their head isn't fully in it, in fairness.

For a full day of international racing with the very best of riders I think it's still good value.

All the above is true enough, but still good racers at the Ulster - there is a summery of what happened so far here https://www.motorcyclenews.com/sport...sday-practice/ and a few good shots

I hate being critical of the UGP but yesterday was a shambles.
The whole world knew rain was coming but was there any indication of a wish to move things along? No.
Roads closed 1000. First practice after 1115. No incidents/delays. Then a break - why?
Finally racing starts at 1530 just in time for the rain. So called warm up lap followed by 10 minutes pratting about on the grid. Result one lap.
After that it's in the lap of the gods and as usual the race everyone wants to see, the Superbikes, is the casualty.

If you're standing in a ditch up there for hours on end waiting for the races to start, I have heard it being said over the years that 'organisers were waiting for the rain', but i'm sure it's related to time slots for live coverage or cleaning up roads or medics returning from hospital runs or something else, be no harm if they updated the paying pilgrims with this information I suppose.
