Question 00 honda vtr1000 sp1 clutch problem

hi all how the feckin hell are ya anyone know how to adjust the clutch on an sp1 im wheelie mad and finding my clutch far too hard to slip . the damn thing is far to crewd its either on or off (no nice in between biting points ) so before i kill myself i recon i'm gonna have to get the better of this beast

Since the clutch is hydraulic there is no way to adjust it as far as i know.

Check the fluid level and make sure there is no air in the system either. This may not be it, the SP is just either on or off with the throttle from what i have read. Stll, its a damn fine machine. Maybe by a second hand bandit 1200 or blade or gixer for the more adventurous riding...

Hi yeah i`ve a sp1 aswell don`t need ta be dumping the clutch ta wheelie !

Put her up on the power in 1st or 2nd then ride though the gears .if yeah can`t do that sell it and buy a Gixer

Dont try wheelie her in 1st!!!

Click 2nd, get to around 5k revs, roll off the throttle, then WOT(wide open throttle) and she should come up nicely.

If necessary bounce her up, as you shut her off lean forward compressing the forks some then pull on the bars as you wot. Start slow and get more aggressive each try so you can find the right combination a little at a time or you'll loop the hoor. Remember to have your weight back as your trying to bring the front up. Remember to cover the rear brake in case she comes up too severly and you want to drop the nose again. Once up try roll off gently to get her back down without slamming the front and fucking your fork seals etc.

cheers buddy for the reply only have it a short while i'm in love with it had an 02 r1 before it and nowhere near as fun! just tryin to get to grips with the vtwin
