Thumbs up Remote engine cut out

I am looking to put a remote engine cut off on my 125cc school bike for safety, Like the ones used on go carts. You know for beginners incase somebody panicks or can't stop. Would save me running next to them ready to hit the stop button

I'm nearly sure my cousin has something like this on his bike - it's part of his alarm system. I'll give him a shout tomorrow and find out for you!

What about getting some decent electrical wire (don't know grade) and a switch. cut the wire in two and then run it to a good spot and put the switch at that spot. Run it to one of the battery terminals??

Switch on switch off...could be disconnected at end of ride depending on whre the battery is???

I tell you i've done before and nearly collapsed in a heap. Up and down up and down, It's tough to get a person up and running properly so it would help to be able to turn it off remotely.
The ones on the go carts work well. They can turn them off if you don't come back when your time is up so i presume that it's some sort of radio signal to the engine stop?

Shouldnt be too expensive. Still cheaper than a heart attack

you can get these type of alarms really cheap off ebay and they can remote start and stop the bike. but one thing if a learner is drivin along in gear and u cut the engine they might not expect it and drop your bike...?

Yeah I thought of that but it would only be used when no other option.
Some people twist the throttle and panick when the bike takes off and also if a trainee did happen to fall off when away from me I could kill the engine straight away.

Thought it was a bit strange a bike not having a kill switch. i was just being polite. Remotely?

Still think the switch idea is a good start. Must be a bodge possible. I'll think about it. Joking aside, i wonder if a

The people you need to talk to are JDM in Dublin 012842066 if it can be done they can do it. They fit out the xpert digi taxis and there is a guy in there called Nigel who was telling me about a set up he was working on controling a car from an XDA phone.

I havn't played with it for a while but yes. it's fucing incredible. Wish I had a games cpu to test it with games i don't have. I could just buy a wii but the wiimote and numbchuck are fine for moment. I use the laptop to convert the wiimote into midi which controls non bike stuff and can be used to control nearly anything with MAX. I'll shut up now

Oh my god! Are you for real? This is one of the most dangerous things I've heard of. The situation should never happen in the first place. What has happened to your highly regarded instructional abilities. More importantly, where was your observational skill that you didn't recognise that this person was so nervous that they weren't ready to get up on a bike?

By the way, if you do go ahead with your hairbrained plan, please remember to stay well back when you hit the remote kill switch. And I sincerely hope that it's only the engine that's killed.
