Default opinions please on my carbs that were ultrasonic cleaned

I rang the shop and asked do they do ultrasonic cleaning and he said they do and i asked him the boss man do they do the whole thing like the outside too and will they be looking as new , he said yea and it would cost 15 is what i though he said depending on how much lab goes in them.

The reason I wanted to get them ultrasonic cleaned is because i was out in JT's and i seen a set of carbs again off a gixxer 1100 and they looked brand new and a friend Ian puff of the site said he got his done for 15 down by the marina and they looked brand new ,

I brought them out and i dont think if you can see from the pics the dirt in the intake and other side as well as the butterfly I was able to rub my finger off them and take off some dirt, the rest of the outside was the same basically
they looked exactly the same as they did before 100% I thought they would be perfict,
so I thought probably it was all the inside bits that were cleaned but the carb air or vacume lines were mucky and i was sure that the trottle buytterfly things the 4 of them would have being stripped and cleaned too,
It cost 70€ and before i put them in today can anyone tell me should i get them done properly where some of the lads got them done or are they fine and the inside bits were done even though every other carb bank that got this treatment looked brand new.
Kevin my buddy who is a hvg mech and very handy on bikes and being biking for 50 years said they looked exactly the same as before and he would have thought that all the parts would have done , i showed them to another bike shop in town and they said the same ,
what do ye think lads are they fine or what

its hard to see the dirt properly from the pics but take my word there filthy
and the inside of the carbs are filthy

what was exactly done

and what do ye think, I was going to put them in tonight but if anyone wants to see them call over and you will be shocked like a few of the lads on here seen them and said there was fuck all done to them

Number of things here wrong. I know its hard not to fall out with a shop due to bad service but speak up when you get parts done etc.

It could be a matter of them doing the wrong carbs being misplaced.

Your mate who said 15 could have been taking the piss

70 is pricey so I'd be pissed if i payed that for them and got them back like that.
Only option dude, go back down and talk to the guy whos responcible for cleaning them

Dosn't look like they did anything.

Maybe, and it's a big maybe, they took out the main jets and pilot ans stuck them in an aldi ultrasonic cleaner -- but thats about it.

Robbin ba***rds, in my opinion.

You should go see the boss man and see what he has to say.

I'd be getting my money back.. Leslie in EAVB will do a proper job on them.Ultra sonic cleaning and vapour blasting the outside to 'as new' finish.

Looks like a half assed job alright. I've heard mixed stories about that company down the marina. I probably wouldn't go there. Phil Gun in Watergrasshill does vapor blasting and also ultra sonic ( I think ). I'll be taking my Triumph stuff to him next week.

they aint done .
id be weary of a 15 euro job too, doesnt make sense .to do the job right you need to remove any parts that can be damaged ,like the diagphrams, tps etc . its best to strip the carbs realy . 15 euro hardly covers the time needed to do this?

is was Lees but I dont want slapper as he is a friend of mine getting involved as i dont want to fall out with him and he only works in the helmet/clothes dept not the workshop so
I did not start this thread as a Lee bashing thing I am just a bit upset , im not working and it took me I dropped them in in the 6th of April and paid 30 off em on the 10th of the 4th and paid the balance last week,
I always got good service from Eric and Matty and Jim and Eric sorted me out aload of times so im not bashing anyone or want to burn any bridges, this happened in the workshop

I just wanted to get yere opinion as I did say I wanted all the whole thing cleaned and explained it twice once on the phone and when I brought them in and was assured that the whole carb bank would be cleaned,

They didn't even clean them, never mind ultrasonicly clean.

Bring them back with the reciept and either get your cash back or get the job you paid for done.

Money is too tight to let this slide. Go back to them
