After getting a good price for the SP1 I think I can finally look at buying a
KTM RC8 . They seem to be common enough in the Uk where they can be picked up fairly handy but would rather buy one here, been looking though, not too many about, anyone on here got one they want to sell? |

Go for RC8R model, they improved it with bits and bobs. Think that gearbox was giving some trouble on the first models, shifting problems. Unique bike if you like to stand out from the crowd.

Definitely recommend the RC8. Still miss mine..
To view pics on this biker's forum - your post count must be 2 or greater. Gearbox issues were sorted with either factory fix or recall. I tried the "R" whilst mine was in for service and I could see the extra money tbh..Very snatchy at low speeds, cos of fuelling. I dropped a tooth on front sprocket but aftermarket exhaust fixes it properly. Akrapovic was the only system available at the time (€2750 approx) but there's a crowd in the UK called JC Exhausts who make a whole system for bout £750. It's A typical KTM, thrash it but maintain it! Very stiff rear shock, less than 12stone and needed to change the rear spring to get some form of movement from it. All in all, great bike. PS, if you don't mind paying VRT; Wayne Mounter KTM in Cardiff had a good few last time I checked. |
