I have heard a lot of lads going from the gsxr1000 back to the 750. Meant to be much more flickable and still more power than you know what to do with.

What's your budget? I doubt you'll be disappointed with either of those options; why not consider a ZX10R? There's a beautiful '06 model listed in another thread; the '04-'05 model was just reviewed in a UK bike mag (SuperBike or FastBikes, I can't remember which one) in a secondhand comparison and they absolutely gushed about it.

I'd go for a 750 over the 1000 too, huge improvement in handling and plenty fast

RR5 blade, K6 Gixxer thou and K7 750 are all fine bikes. There's very little in it really- pick the one you like the look of best. I've seen guys use all three as everyday all rounders and BIKE mag had a feature on a guy who put 120,000 miles on a k5 thou by couriering it in London- apart from oil and plugs it wasn't touched.

Me? I'd buy a SuperDuke...

I wouldn't say that, but there better than a boring blade any day of the week.
to be honest if it was my money I'd buy an R1, but if i had to choose 1 of the 2 mentioned I'd get a red and black K2
