I have ordered a set of decals for the old DT 250 and i've finished spraying the tank. The paint on the tank has now got the orange peel look, what i need to know is can i get rid of the orange peel on PAINT by fine sanding and buffing - then put the decals on, or do i spary laquer on - polish, then put the decals on and re laquer?

Just a light flat with 1500 should do it, colour sand and polish the clear coat the same way afterwards

Just be careful you dont go through the base coat, any flaws in the base coat are a lot harder to correct than flaws in the laquer
