Hope any of you can help me?
When i start her up she runs perfect, when i drive it perfect! But after about 3 miles she cuts out like you run out of petrol. Before you ask YES there is petrol To view pics on this biker's forum - your post count must be 2 or greater. When it stops i can hear the fuelpomp and it will start after about 30 sec's like nothing is wrong and than after 3 miles same thing. Here's what i've done so far: -Drove it with fuelcap open to see if airvent is blocked- no joy -Had fuelhose of carbs and started her up to see if petrol kept flowing- yes it did! -Drained the carbs and there was some water and dirt in it but not to much. After i drained it i emptied out the tank and filled her with new fresh petrol. and sprayed carb cleaner into the carbs from the top where the airbox goes on. So any one an idea? water wil not work its way out of carbs you need to do a full strip.

water will sit under petrol till it moves about, thats why tanks will rot away from the inside out the petrol floats on the water |

sounds like your fuel pumps not working under load or you have a kinked pipe under the tank thats letting enough through to fill the carbs when the engines off but not enough to keep it running

tanks are forever rotting out of them..
carbs give loads of hassle too.. make sure that tank is ok and clean inside and all the lines are free etc.. |

found water,,,, just strip them it wont come out any other way!
get yourself a can of carb cleaner to blow out all the jets and channels.. then find out where its coming from. you might wanna drain the tank it could be fucked! |

Fit an inline filter if there isn't one - save yourself getting gunk from the tank into the carbs on older bikes.
