I'm paying. I don't want to but i have no excuse not to. They're probably going to catch everyone via utility bills or some other means. In the end it will probably end up as a lean against the property so one way or the other we'll all pay.

AFAIK that loophole has no basis in law. I really don't know where it came from.

I don't get politics or any of that bollox, but is there not some fuckin law that has to be passed or something or I dunno, SOMETHING that says we HAVE to pay this?! Or is it just cos they said so? Honestly?

Is this not a country where we vote on shit like this? democracy or whatever that shit is. So if the government asked me to bend over that means I have to? Its that simple?

Personally I'm more worried about the price of oil / gas which will end up costing me a multiple of the household charge this year.

Like it or not FF/PD/Greens funded the state in large part with transaction taxes which are never sustainable. That has to be corrected, I hate to say it but that e100 is just the start. i fully expect it to rise to close to a grand in the coming years.

I could stomach the extra taxes were it not for the fact that the previous shower of cunts nationalized private debt and the current crowd are too gutless to stand up to Germany / France. If you look at the Anglo unsecured bond holders they are for the most part German and French asset management companies.

But more than this, the reason I will be paying is that we have to get out of this mess as fast as we can. We owe it to our kids not to saddle them with this debt.

I was talking with my brother in law about this today.
They say it's to cover the cost of libraries, roads, street lighting, public transport etc.
Out here where I live there is no libraries,no road(seriously,it a dirt track),no street lighting,no public transport, theres nothing.
If I was living in a council estate/ghost estate ,I wouldnt be liable for the charge,
despite having all the above available to me.
They can fuck right the way off.
I'm prepared to go to jail for this.If I do get sent down,I'd be better off,
No getting up early trying to scratch a living, getting my hands dirty for
fuck all money, bursting my hump and having nothing to show after paying
all the bills, taxes and all the bollox I have to content with.
Best of food, sky tv,all mod cons and my missus and kids looked after.
How bad.Fook em,not paying.

Unless the tax is ring fenced you can be pretty sure the cash will go to pay debt.

not paying be 100 euro this year and once they have the foot in the door they will charge what they want.hard enough pay mortage and bill pay tax on the motor put petrol in it 80 to 90 euros a week tax taken out of my wages thats without working overtime.i know im lucky to be gettin a wage at the end of the week the way things are goin but i tink this is an unfair tax.only 3 years ago i gave the council 7500 in fees when i was building the house for ammenities.
