Default my new drz very sick :(

Well guys i bought a drz few weeks ago and yesterday while out for a ride it basically lost all power i held in the clutch and it totally shut down , released the clutch again and accelerated hard which barely got me to the end of the country road, after i pulled in it wouldnt start and sounded much different , so today i searched around the bike for anything loose etc and nothing , i then checked the oil and my heart sank , dipstick was creamy, so i drained the oil and id say a max of 200ml of black oil came out, i believe water got in somehow and the creamy mix contaminated the plug , i dont know how the bike had so little oil or how water got in , but i will be stripping it down during the week , what do ye guys think ill be in for?gasket or worse? That low oil couldnt have been healthy

I dip the oil on my DRZ weekly, only takes 2 min for peace of mind! These lads are breaking a DRZ400 'E' model at the moment. E model has a thinner base gasket and a FCR pumper carb and some different cams, bit more oomf for ya..

The 440 kit wont sort a head problem! 440 kit is just a barrel, piston and top end gasket set. Head problem would be cams, valves, etc.. Hope you get it sorted!

yeah but while i have the whole lot stripped apart i might as well fit a 440 kit , i had a look at the cams today turned it to top dead centre and the inlet seems to be off by about 10 degrees so it might have slipped a wee bit , im just downloading the service manual now and will check the timing guide , while i was turning the crank around it didnt seem as smooth as it should

found the problem the exhaust cam gear slipped about 15 degrees so no big deal no bent valves or anything, but while its all apart im gonna order a big bore and stroker kit and bigger cams along with a aka exhaust and bugger carb and jets , and stripping the rest of it apart and cleaning/polishing/powdercoating bits and pieces including the frame , it will take me about 2 months to do but should be crazy when done :)

the e has the 39mm ill be going for the 41mm with a bit of head work to allow for bigger valves , there is a crowd in the us that do a kit 465 kit which consists of this

94mm Cylinder Works Big Bore Cylinder
• 94mm 12:1 JE Piston Kit

• Hotrods +4mm Stroker Crank Trued to.002 & Welded at Pin

• Webcams Race Profile (288/540 grind) Billet Cams

•Kibblewhite +1mm Black Diamond Intake and Exhaust Valves
•Kibblewhite Race Valve Spring Kit with Ti Retainers

•Hotrods Main Bearings and Seal Kit

• All necessary top and bottom end gaskets

all i need to do is get the head machined a bit and i can do the rest myself, then exhaust and carb with the above = big power
