brushes can become sticky tap the end of the starter with something plastic or wooden to free up and loosen dust from brushes.

I put a set of jump leads on the bike and no difference. Now the ignition lights arent going off anymore when you hit the start button. Still nothing happening though. I'm gonna have a good look at the earth lead and see.Failing that i'll whip out the starter and test it. I'll keep ye posted.

Ok i found a bad earth. Some of the problem is solved. The connection on the battery was loose, however that happened, vibration maybe?. The ignition has stopped going off when i push the start button BUT the bike still aint making an effort to turn. So is the general consensus to take out the starter and test?

There's absolutely nothing happening when you press the button. No clicking or buzzing. I still have my lights and everything though unlike when i started with this whole problem.

Found the problem me thinks. It actually is the button contacts. I pushed the button in quite hard and it turned. I did check this previously but because the earth was loose on the battery at that point i was mislead. I'm gonna add on some metal and hopefully thats that.

Try a jump start or different battery first. Could just be dodgy battery.

lol ,if ya found out it was the loose connection at starter button,it would do no harm to give it a light spray of WD 40 too,(knocks out the moisture)
