Lidi one here as well, does the job grand.

One point to note if you battery drains after a couple of days I'd say it is on it last legs no matter about the LED on the alarms etc, etc... a good battery should stay charged for longer than a couple of days...

One thing noone mentioned - do not leave it connected to the battery and not plugged into the mains, it will drain the battery this way in a couple of days.
never had a problem with that, mines a datatool yolk, battery is 6 years old now, trickle chargers really do pay for themselves

You've got other problems if the battery is draining off that fast.
Sounds more like the bike isn't charging the battery when out on her.
If your alarm is draining the battery over night, you've either got a shit alarm or a shit battery. Change the battery. If that doesn't solve it, go further.

Battery is bout 3 yr old. It's never held the charge
More than 4 days from new. I checked voltage
After a spin and it was 13.4 if memory serves.
All I can think of is the poxy led. I might disconnect it.
It's a datatoolAlarm. Gonna bus Matt tomorrow.

It wont be the LED mate, the curent consumption on them is almost nothing but it probably is the alarm itself. As long as its connected it will always use some current. I never had a problem even after a week or so with the alarm draining the battery.

Lads, will a trickle charger charge a flat battery?

Have a flat battery and was wondering if i could charge it up by using the trickle charger.

It's not the led. Disconnect the alarm from the battery & try the battery after a couple of days. 4 days charge from a new battery - sounds dodgy. I never remember an alarm draining that much from my battery. You'll need to confirm this, but I'd check out the reg/rectifier & alternator.
@ Magnet; yeah, it'll charge it. Give it about 12 hours. (In a ventilated area).

Cheers for all the reviews
