Just an update, I have been sourcing parts for the last week or so for the motor. Looks like I'll be getting the bits from Jan Smit in Holland as he's way cheaper than anyone else who came back to me with prices on what I am looking for. I was quoted 300 Sterling for a full set of 6 piston rings and 150 sterling for a full gasket set from the boys in the UK. It's gonna be dear one way or the other to put this motor back together. So the plan is to get some cash together and get the bits. Strip the motor fully, and measure everything to make sure all is well, hone the barrels and paint everything and put it back together. But its gonna take me a while to get the money together, so for now I will be doing small jobs on the bits and pieces I have here. Stripping cleaning and painting and putting it away carefully until I need it. Gonna be a long long job to get this baby back together.......

Some racket all right outta that thing. He's well able to ride it as well. not much to report on the big zed at the moment. To be honest I have not got near it. I was outta work for almost 18 months, and with the price of parts that was not gonna work. Back working again, but doing 12hr shifts and just wrecked at the weekends. I go out to the shed sometimes and look at it and the ideas start flowing again, And the cost of doing them as well. For what its gonna cost to put the motor back together I'd be able to buy a nice Bandit12. Will it be worth all the cost and time????? I'm beginning to wonder now....All that effort on the Superfour and then I sold it not long after. I just don't know anymore. My head is saying "go on go on!!!! rebuild the fucker!!!!" But my heart is saying "will it be worth it in the end??????"

answers on a postcard please to the usual address....

jaysus ya can't think of stopping, work on the easier bits first, cleaning etc til the fog clears. looking at it all now is bound to feel an impossible project, but it's not. Try to do 30mins work on it every eve to get started. No bother to ya!

pull her out of the corner. wd40 all the nuts and bolts. strip the carbs.... you know what you're at G, claning won't cost a lot, but it will motivate the mind and give you a chance to budget over the next year to cover the expensive work.

Can see where you are coming from,i'm in the middle of a triton build, which is being done as money allows,i.e. slowly, and i Know i'll have a lot more put into it before i'm done than it'll be worth-but that's not the point,is it?If every build was done with an eye on the bills, nobody would bother.Who cares if it takes you 10 years to do it,it's a Z1300 for chrissakes,if you let it go,chances are you'll never own one again. That's how i feel about my triton anyway, and it's why i am determined to see it finished.Eventually.
