They won £20,000 in damages from the stadium at the High Court last year, but the Appeal Court has overturned that decision.

The couple was ordered to pay £85,000 interim legal costs by the court.
Both of these are ridiculous. I can't believe the couple were at first awarded £20k because they fucked up; but now the dummies get an £85k lawyer's bill? That's just as fucked up.

But I agree w/L&L: great result for the track.

Proper order... if the 'nuisance' was there when they moved in, then there's fook all they can do... and I'm glad they got stung with the 85k bill... cnuts!

In fairness this should be the case everywhere, if ya buy a house next to a racetrack it's common sense it's gonna be noisy

The only winners there were the lawyers.
But lets be honest, if you are going buying a house you fuckin' scope out the neighbourhood before signing on the dotted line.
That 85 grand should be considered a Stupidity Tax by the couple

Lord Justice Jackson, one of three judges in court, said: "The outcome of this litigation will be a disaster for the claimants, a fact which I regret.
"On the other hand, their predicament is a consequence of their decision to purchase a house in an area where motor sports were an established activity.
"The noise of motor sports emanating from the track are an established part of the character of the locality."

Same issue seems to be live up at Kirkistown, with a couple of 'litigation friendly' new residents to the area still kicking up stink about noise levels from bikes and bike-engined cages. Hope the same argument applies there.

Feckin gold diggers, what do they expect exactly ? But a house near an aiport and expect aeroplanes, buy a house near a motor sport venue and expect to hear engines
