Righto. The Tribes MCC are having their winter run on Sun 8th Jan '06. Meeting point is Mother Hubbards in Kilcolgan (Galway, on the Limerick Road). Check-in is between 12 and 12.30pm. Route is through Kinvara, Ballyvaughan, Lisdoonvarna, Ennistymon, Ennis and finishing up in Rorys (O'Connors) pub in Gort. The legend that is Rory will be laying on the soup & sandwiches.
All are welcome.

The phone has just been hopping there. Admin has gratiously offered to those that turn up his babysitting skills for the day. He has hired a bouncing castle, water guns, a ball pool, Shrek 2, a fleet of mini quads & 10lb of Cadburys Golden Crisp (All for use himself).
Just drop the kids off in Athlone on the way. He says he can't guarantee the safety of your children if they are well developed 16yo+ girls.....

Do you want people to actually show up for this run or hang out in Athlone for the weekend?

What time you reckon ye'll be in Ennis at? I've to go to Corofin (Clare) on the saturday, heading back to Dublin on the Sunday, so I could do the Ennis to Gort section with ye (grab a sanger and then feck off back to Dublin on me own :) )

Bloke,
Don't think that we'll be stopping in Ennis, just passing through. Won't be until maybe 5 o'clock I'd assume. I'll keep an eye out for a cream & blue (

Well, small turnout of about 20 bikes on the day. Everything from a brand spanking new Ducati 749S to a rickety old CB500. We had a lovely dry, sunny & crisp start to the day but once we left Lehinch the heavy freezing fog descended and the run turned out to be a feat of human endurance. Visibility was atrocious, the roads were greasy (my near slick tyres and blown fork seal certainly weren't helping) & you could only ride with the visor up, meaning the blast of cold air made the eyes water badly. The gloves and front of the jacket were covered in ice once we reached Galway and the roads were getting icy too. You know things are bad when you are overtaking the gritting lorry.....

Other than that a great day to blow off the cobwebs. ^_^

got the tm's about it and was home just in time to have made it but needed time to unpack/recover from the hol - had a blast mind.

wouldn't have minded getting a gawk at the 749 though.

Em, the couple of young ones that were on the run, once they had taken off the jackets had nipples on them like JCB starter buttons......
That's the best I can do for you.
