you can give it a good lash with wd40 and try to move it after a while, this didnt do it for me, i had remove the eccentric, give it a bit of a light sanding in places to get rid of shite, then lube it up and stick it in
To view pics on this biker's forum - your post count must be 2 or greater. I found the c-spanner useless and didnt even use it after unseizing the eccentric, its much easier to place a flat head screwdriver against the teeth of the cog, and then turn the rear wheel, you'll see that a bolt (attatched to the sprocket i think) will hit off the screwdriver, keep turning the wheel, the extra leverage you get will make it easier to turn and might save you doing the following: the nut on on the sprocket side ( i think its 41mm) has a "collar" which must be tapped up in order for the nut to be movable, its a bitch to get off. removing everything else is fairly straight forward, you're going to have to remove the wheel aswell in order for the eccentric to come out. Heres the manual for the identical US hawk To view pics on this biker's forum - your post count must be 2 or greater. |

no probs, did it ages ago so the memories a bit foggy. If ye do take out the eccentric it wouldnt hurt to take a file to the teeth of the cog slightly if theyve been wrecked by people doin the aul screwdriver and hammer technique then the c spanner mightnt grip the teeth very well.

Yeah...As NDMBLACKBLADE suggests...ye need to strip it right down and apply plenty of TLC. There will be years of muck and grit in there. After the rebuild she will be back to her old self..now put on the kettle and go get stuck in!
