Default vagina not starting...already!

Hey guys,

So last night I picked up my first bike a YamahViagra 250, really happy with it and drove it home from Wicklow to Dublin with no problems, once the engine got warm she was fine, the guy I bought it from said it had been lying up for a few months....however this morning she wouldn't start for me. I had the choke on , the fuel lever in the right position and tried giving her a bit of gas aswell but she was just turning over and making a buzzing noise in the engine....anybody any idea of something else I can try, majorly disapointed now I was dying to take her into work and don't want to have problems already.

Granted it was a cold morning and she might be tempermental but the guy I bought it said he had just put a new starting motor in a few weeks ago!

im not an expert by any means, is the engine turning, if not, Im thinking he may of had a clapped out battery on charge all day before you arrived. If the battery has juice take the leads off the spark plugs and check for a spark, try and get a spark to
to arc across the top of the plug. couldbe the artic conditions you travelled through dampened some dogey leads. Failing that PM chopper, he'll sort you out

Is the motor actualy turning over or is the starter relay just clicking and not turning the motor, typicly the reg/ rec goes on them and that leaves the battery not charging. Charge up the battery and it will probably start , if it does check with a multimeter check if it's charging enough , you should be getting between 13 and a half - 14 and a half volts

sounds like your might had flooded her.

did it once on my superfour - never again.

full choke, starter only - NO gas.

try her again when you get home tonight.

if that doesn't work, a hug and a blanket might make her change her mind for ya.

Seriously though, sounds like a flat battery, or dodgy reg/rec. Most likely, battery's fookt from lying up. Start with the basics, replace the battery.

OK so I was talking to the guy I bought it off a few mins ago, apparently it is a new battery. She was turning over, but very weakly I definatly am now thinking it's the battery or altenator. I'd say he had it charged or something before I came, could I try jumping it off another bike or car(With the power off)?...

Other than that I guess I'll need to get a new altinator and battery possibly, would I be looking at much to get them installed?well the antinator i'll do the battery..

Let's do it again then ,
batterys flat even though it's supposedly new and bike had good spin yesterday so it should be charged. V iragos typicly burn out reg/ recs, so you need to charge the battery up , start the bike , and check the voltage .

Waste of his money buying another new battery when it's most likely still going to need a reg/ rec . He needs to check it's fucking charging .
