from the 4 that are out 2 are actually loose tolerance IN 0.11 - 0.20 and i was reading 0.20 - 0.25 the other 2 are tight 0.05 - 0.10. all in the inlet cams too, the exhaust are perfect

yep, took your advice from a couple of months back putting it in top gear and I'm able to crank it with a rachet on the sprocket nut

so with a bike thats known to tighten the clearances you would put the shims in to keep the clearances at the tightest?
To view pics on this biker's forum - your post count must be 2 or greater.
, you wouldnt notice the difference for a start ,i doubt a dyno would ,and this is a bike that could never handle the power it had in the first place
To view pics on this biker's forum - your post count must be 2 or greater.
.

it might be worth doing on a trackday tool if you happened to be doing the clearances anyway but if you need or could actualy use that type of performance gain you would be better off dialing in different cams

was thinking that too, but I can only get my hands on shims that are in increments of .05mm, so doesn't really matter.

1. is all the shims the same?
2. say no matter Yamaha or Honda?
3. or like all Yamaha has one type ?
4. or every bike uses different type of shims
5. is "shim" means adjusting pad?
