Motorbike: VFR 400 NC30
Modifications: carbon fibre mirrors, scorpion exhaust
Default cracking noise from bike, Grommet!

when i accelerate from stop there is a cracking noise coming from the rear of the bike..its not the engine because it only happen at very low speed accelerating, its something slipping or something..any ideas?

you adjusted your chain recently? i'd a loud "ticking" noise coming from the CB before the chain snapped on me...

hmm, i havent adjusted the chain but it is a bit loose ive noticed..illcheck it out tomorrow and i hope its not bearings..how much would that be to fix roughly?

sprocket carrier bearings most likely shot. fix it before it leaves ya sitting on the side of the road

yup it was chain..got the bike a good service and tightened the chain and no more noise!

I'd possibly check the sprocket carrier bearing as chopper suggested too.
