Sorry for all the noobie questions I'm posting but I need to ask this. How much should I expect to pay for insurance on a 125 vagina? I'm 18, male, live in Dublin, provisional licence, third party fire and theft cover. I thought it would be less than 1K but Quinn just quoted me online for E1,800. Nothin abnormal on my form. Bog standard. I checked it over to make sure I didn;t check the box that said 'do you like to drive you bike on icy roads while high as a kite; and everything!

One of the resons I like bikes is because they're cheaper to run than cars - especially for insurance for someone my age. Any ideas? Any bikes cheaper to insure for me? I like cruisers and bikes that look like a GS (flat seats etc...) - Dean |

My insurance was 650 which I thought was extremely high for a 29 year old woman on a 125. That was the cheapest quote I could get and a few wouldnt even insure me cause I was on my first provisional. Not sure if there is a whole lot you can do about it, will be high the first year and then hopefully it will drop significantly during the second.

Defo call them. The online quotes are way off. I was quoted €600ish on a SV650s on a provo license over the phone and couldn't get one online at all.

It'll always be high enough to start as an 18 y/o though. That goes with the territory though. Gluck with it chief! To view pics on this biker's forum - your post count must be 2 or greater. |

I paid €1200 9 years ago on 125 Honda Varadero when I was 20. So imagine what that is in todays money. Ring them and you might get it lower but to be honest we all had to do it. You have to start somewhere

I paid over 3000e for a tzr 125 when I was 19. That's when there was only one insurance company.
The Dublin address is hiking up your quote, ever think of moving? You can't change your age or experience. Try other bikes too. |
