Any1 i've ever heard of goin in2 proper races as a first time out has binned d bike during it

My advice would be the same as i was given, buy sum cheap oul, but decent, 250 or 400 etc, i'v a cbr 250 for it, and just go 2 the open track days a couple of times first, mondello etc. Its great craic but ya wouldnt wana bring ur normal road wheels mate, just incase ya drop it. Ur not insured on the track anyway, just keep that in mind

PS: Customary to go to intro's section and give a bit of info/ say hello if ur a nu-b

welcome to anyway!

Have a quick look through the threads , all the info is covered , you need a licence , flag seminar ,do the training day ,medical , get a bike and you're a racer , my advice is to do a few trackdays first or if you have and ride a red tuono and have a blue lid and are the person I'm thinking of , just get a bike , you're quick enough

There's no class to race a cbr 250 ,trackdays grand but you're wasting your time getting one to go racing .

We dont do race track days, thats where you buy in2 a class based race, we do open track days, ya jus buy laps, or time if theres enuf of ya goin, ya can bring anythin, its class! Admittedly, we get it a bit easier than others, one of my mates is a formula vee racer so dey give him d track 4 us a fair bit

Just have 2 follow d rules, like gettin outa d way asap if quicker stuff is comin up behind ya so they dont land up ur hole etc

What track are you talking about ? The lad wants to go racing , not trackdays , no point in getting a cbr 250 if he cant race it

that's a good way to be taken out, keep to your line and let the faster lads have a predictable moving obstacle to overtake

last thing they want when they approach you at speed, with a plan to overtake you, is for you to suddenly move to where they're not expecting you to be

hang on a sec, you're saying your mate is a cage racer and they let you out on the same stretch of tarmak as a formula vee, while you're on a 250 4 stroke? is that right?

Dont ever do that, youll be smacked out of it when the quicker rider makes his move past you and you move into his way. Sure way to be mangled and mangle someone else
