Thinking along the same lines myself,
The Bandit 250 is not renowned for reliability TBH
Would ya not consider the likes of::

Bros 400 (absolutely Bomb proof Bikes)
Hornet 250 (nice but in most cases stupidly expensive)
Bandit 600 (No explanation needed)

You'd pick up a cheap enough Bros if you do your homework
And there was a very well priced Hornet on the site recently

(given the choice of the 3 I'd get the 600 Bandit and restrict it, or better yet fond a F/R one, only Group 5 insurance IIRC )

EDIT/
For the money you'll spend on parts/respraying and the time and effort to boot it would seem to be a better option to just get something else

Dont matter about the licence you can get anything restricted. Just I wouldnt spend a ball of money on a yoke that isnt really worth it. Not tryin to diss yer bike or anything, just have a look round at bikes for sale b4 ya go mad spendin
