Motorbike: Triumph Speed Triple 1050
Default Looking to learn some techy stuff!!

Heya lads,
As the title says,I'm looking to roll up the sleeves and learn a bit and seen that Larkin community college do a night course starting in September. Has anyone done it or something similar? Tinkered with the idea of getting a project bike which is all well and good but I wouldn't fancy my chances and would probs lose interest. That and I don't really have the workspace, indoor or outdoor.

On a slightly related note,it seems that doing a motorcycle technician apprenticeship is nearly impossible in this country for some reason.Seems completely the opposite in say the U.K. for example as i've seen triumph run a good programme which runs in conduction with their factory.Just find it a little frustrating as I'm looking for a career change and it's the one thing I would love to do. Would love you guys(and gals) 2 cents.Take her handy!!
Gary.

If you are going to lose interest in a project before you've even started it then you should probably pick an alternative career. Are you able to do a basic oil, filter and spark plug service on your bike? Have you read the owners manual? Can you fit brake pads? Start with simple stuff and work towards the harder stuff when you have a bit of confidence.

Larkin course is very good, Dennis is a very good teacher.
Well worth the money.

Uk is the only place to train as a bike mechanic.
None available in this country anymore.
Have you thought about going the instructor route?
