Default Pics from Killarney Bikefest 2018

Moseyed down this morning. Haven't been there with three years. The weather looked a bit threatening at times but I didn't see any heavy rain until I was well on my way home. If I was to use one word to describe the show it would have to be 'underwhelming'. I arrived there at 1pm, I left at 2.15pm & in that space of time I had seen everything that there was to see.
On a positive note, I bumped into some good buddies both at the show & also at my breakfast stop at the Cruiscin Lan, Ballyvourney on the way down. Some were going to Bikefest & others were going to the Ring of Kerry Honda 50 Run.
Also, it was a 'tits & T-shirts' type of a day down there so there were more things to look at than just bikes Will I go again? Jury is out on that one.

Pics are here & are also on my Bookface page

Got a pitch next to the inec so staying down, there's a guns and Roses tribute band on stage at the moment waiting for the rolling stones act to come on at ten. Good crowd here, weather not as good as mid week but at least it's dry

More trikes than bikes by the look of it...
They'll have to change the name!

That's true, actually. Loads of trikes there on the Saturday. Some of them were nice, too

I called to bikefest on my way home from the beach on Sunday, less than an hour and Id the whole thing seen, fairly shit to be honest.. seemed to be a fairly poor turnout of visitors on bikes too, the areas where their bikes would be parked was fairly light this year..

I hadn't been there with three years & TBH I thought that it was very slack overall. I feel that it was a backward step from the time when other marques were also displaying their bikes for the weekend. There was a distinct lack of colour about the place. I realise that it's a HD gig & fair play to them for putting it on year after year but if they are going to adopt an attitude of "It's our ball & nobody else is playing with it" then that could have long term repercussions for the event. I hope that won't happen. Overall I thought that the bikes on display were uninspiring to say the least. The HD aficionados will no doubt disagree but IMO it takes more that one marque to make a successful show. The parking spaces were fairly full while I was there on Saturday & I met quite a few buddies. Most of them would be bike rally people while very few of them are HD owners. Maybe it's more about the social occasion & less about the bikes nowadays.

That's true Fred 50 50 bikes and meeting people. Was working myself. It's just another social outing. Being a hd rider it's not exactly my thing either but at least it's somewhere to go.
