I have a 650 from 2007. Great bike apart from the standard seat, windscreen and exhaust. Changed them and the bike is excellent now. That said I wouldn't mind a bit more grunt for motorway driving. Had a test ride on the latest 1000 recently and if funds would allow I would buy her in a heartbeat.

I love the DL650 Vstrom's. I had one for a few years, then stupidly traded for a Kawasaki Z1000.

Took the Zed without a test ride (never do that) but I loved its looks and done the trade, by the time I was half way home I was regretting my decision.

Kept the Zed a few months and got a super trade on a BMW R1200GS. The big GS has defo been my fav bike to date, but the DL650 ranks right up there with it.

I thought the only let down with the Vstrom was cheap suspension and weak brakes. I loved its massive fuel tank and range.

Highly recommended.
