Went on the trip last year and I can tell you that french and italian cops are friendly with bikers. Better watch out for cops in Swiss, especialy female

The memory stick idea is great - always a hassle keeping track of paper docs on the road...

Hiya. I'm wondering if you or others members can recommend cheap hostels or B & B's for me to stay at in Ireland. I won't be camping and I won't be on the bike my whole trip but still planning for places to stay. Also wondering about any advice for motorcycling in Ireland ie: true cost of fuel, road conditions etc.

You can keep them backed up with online storage as well. Saved me when I was in USA

Hi All,
I am new to biker.ie and am planning a trip/cruise from roslare ireland to pembrook, ride to plymouth perhaps via southampton, ferry from plymouth to Santandare in northern Spain, ride from there to south of France and cruise up the west coast of France camping and B&B perhaps taking some days off for sightseeing on the way, returning to Ireland from Roscoff/Roslare 2 weeks later. What is the best way of getting the massage out if anyone is interested in joining in the tour/journey/trip?
Thanks
John 11

You can get a temporary card a day or two before you leave, this will last one month
The card when it arrives lasts for 4 years
Just happeded to read this because someone brought the thread back to life,
thought I'd check my EHIC card - it EXPIRES the day before I fly out to Malta

How To Fly With Motorcycle Gear

Going on holiday and plan to ride bikes while you’re there? Taking off on an epic two-wheeled adventure? You can get bikes in far away places but, often, not a decent helmet, much less leathers or dirt bike armor. Here’s how to fly with motorcycle gear.

This is a really useful thread! I joined this forum to get travel advice :-)

My husband and I are planning a trip to the south of France. We don't own our own bikes but are planning on renting some for the trip. The plan is to rent a caravan and drive from the UK, then park up somewhere and rent bikes for day trips. Has anyone rented a caravan in France before? We have been looking at this place . Has anyone used them before? Or know anway better?
The main thing I'm looking for help with however is places that are good for riding in the south of France? Any particular routes we should check out?
