Been commuting that way using bus lanes and filtering for 9 years. Keep the speed in check and don't display too much riding "flair" and you'll be just fine and dandy.

I drive into D4 from Bray a lot of times during rush hour and never had an issue. I try my best to keep me mincers peeled and I've gotten on ok :) Never been pulled by a bike gard but the lads in cars have always been agreeable. Treat them like a prick and they'll probably do the same to you haha

If you are not allowed filter, there's absolutely no point in commuting to work on a motorbike. I really hope this is just one Garda being exception to the rule!!

I say the make a statement not to act a maggot. I wouldnt stress much about it, the Garda presence on a road is superficial anyway, plus bikes are getting stolen so they probably just wanna chat to see who's under the helmet maybe they can get lucky and find a stolen bike by pure luck or sommat.
I got stopped once just to be told to be careful out there.

Of course not, I would be showing my left bicep with my left hand while holding the throttle with the right and speeding away.

I have been riding that route for years, never had a problem using the bus lane, rarely even see a cop in the morning.

Him/it/they were out again this evening on the N11 south. Gard sitting at the M50/M11 merge, waiting. Did my usual, joined to filter half way down the Bray north exit lane. Next thing, i see him pacing me on the exit lane... bobbing his noggin up and down, checking the speed (40kph in moving traffic) and eye balling me before cutting in himself and barking an order to pull over for a 'chat'. No fine, no points but everything yous have in the thread - "the RSA stuff is an 'advisory'" he said about filtering. "It's DANGEROUS!!". "I did 6 weeks high speed training....how about you??!" he says, "eh... two days?" says me, "Well, good for you!!" says the +10 year old, beat up, i'll fitting, talking white Arai. Wouldn't have minded so much but I couldn't really concentrate as I had Matt Cooper in my other earhole. He was livid!! Matt Cooper that is.... Something about the Garda enquiry...... All year round commuting for yonks, first time ever stopped for this. I never take the piss neither. See some nut jobs tho carving it up.

Another time it was in a bus lane coming up to the Radisson there in Stillorgan, (in fairness, stopped in the middle of the bus lane at the lights) when they asked me "...are you are fire engine?", "no...", "are ya...a h'ambulance?".."eh no"... They then just told me, when getting to lights and in a bus lane, to pull over to the side nearest the cages so a "h'ambulance" can tear on thu'.

Yeah got he same speel off him .... he sure does love to hear himself speak.

Its a shame MAG or the RSA wont send a memo out to the traffic corp about this. Load of bollox one or two muppets stopping all bikes from filtering. I passed 2 cagers on mobiles just before he stopped me, one even went by still on the phone when I was pulled over ...think he would do anything about it?

Its popo like him who make me weary of the rest of em.
