Put your tent and camping gear on the back and make your way over to NoreValleyPark at Bennettsbridge on Friday night for camping weekend and some K100 talk and bbq. www.norevalleypark.com
Looks like you got a really good one. Motorworks or Motobins will sell you a service kit with all you need. Halfords or Lidl will sell you the oils. For oil filter you need a removal tool or simply unbolt the sump plate, it uses sealant and not a gasket. You also have quite a few mint K1s near you....... |

Do some clever internet shopping. I got lucky and got pads a few weeks back for about €7 a set, organic or EBC. Don't use sintered pads, they eat the very expensive discs. Motobins do some great pad deals, same pads in Guzzis and a lot of R bikes too.
Don't worry about the smoke, its due to engine design of head facing down on the left and not to worry about. You can deliberately make smoke for James Bond movie by letting it tick over on side stand and then kill the engine. Come back a few hours later and you get serious smoke. As engine cools piston ring end gap opens as it should and lets oil from behind the piston into combustion chamber, rings are not pinned on earlier Ks. Whatever you do, do NOT over fill the oil. Centre red dot on main stand. Overfill is quick way to blow the rear main seal which you should probably replace anyway over the winter. Red warning light is deliberate, there is a rear bulb monitor fitted, should go out when you use/tap front and rear brakes. If not it means you have a blown rear bulb, blown brake bulb or a faulty front or rear brake switch. Charge light will glow a little on tickover at night. Coolant hoses should last until winter, you can get silicone ones if you want, messy job replacing them as on any bike so if in there look at the temperature sensor. Plug leads, Realm Engineering do sets made to measure. Non resistor plugs NGK D7EA or D8EA in Halfords will do nicely. Don't use plugs with R in the code. |

If you are buying cables or brake pipes, they are made in 2 lengths and you need the longer ones for the RT bars you have.
Clutch Throttle Choke Front brake pipe from lever to headstock. If you want hazard lights the switch comes as a plug in to the loom, connector is already there under the tank. |

Dip filament gone? Pass light works on main beam. Bulb is twin filament and sometimes just one blows and its usually the dip that does it.
Not unknown for those switches to burn out as there is no headlight relay. But try bulb first H4. Recommended to fit a relay in the mix, plenty of room in the fairing for one. Shot of steam out left side is strange, but fan should have come on before temp light. Fans are known trouble, check it spins as they do seize. Temp sensor is on left behind bottom of radiator. Might want to check thermostat is doing the business...see if radiator gets hot and also see that the fan comes on before the warning light. Why not go to the K100 forum, http://www.k100-forum.com/ everything is on that and quite a few members near you too. |

An uncle of mine has one of these in his garage parked up over 10 years. Around 85 thousand miles on it from commuting in London and it still starts and runs without a fuss! Good few jobs to do on it mind
