Default Red 97 VFR 750 stolen in Cork city

Lads,
This is a bike that means an awful lot to a friend of mine. It's an immaculate red VFR 750 1997 with seat cowl. Stolen last night from Glounthaune in Cork.

If anyone sees one around will ye please send me a PM. This is the second time that this bike has been taken from the same place and it's heartbreaking. I'm going to go look in the "usual" places to see if I can see it around but please keep an eye out in the meantime.

Disc lock was snapped off. It was one of those Oxford Screamer jobs. Looks like it was a hammer and chisel job. Ignition ripped out. Not a professional job.

Did the 'screamer' not do its job? I was thinking of getting one of these just interested to know did the alarm work, I hope your friend gets his bike back

Battery had ran out so no alarm I believe.

If anyone is keeping a bike outside you really need to anchor it. Put an anchor point in and get a damn good chain.

They will work every time with those who will sit on yer bike while ya are away. Alas, most scumers can silence a screamer before it starts.

Best of luck to the OP.

Those aren't worth a shite. I've got 1 and a good rap with a hammer could snap it, certainly the bolt extractor method would last about 15 seconds. The alarm isn't loud and the batteries don't ladst well

There's a gang up there who have been causing havoc nicking bikes recently. Up by the water tower I gather.

Thank you very much. I had a good look around the area yesterday but didn't spot anything. Same with the area around the water tower, nothing up there at the time I had a look.

The bike had a lovely sound, he had recently fitted a high-level Delkevic end-can so you would certainly hear it.

No news on it as of this morning .

Still no sign of it so I'm beginning to think that it may have been taken out of Cork at this stage. That being said it could well be in a ditch somewhere too and someone will spot it - anything could happen.

I'll try get a pic and put it up here shortly.
