Nothing wrong with filtering as long as it is done when traffic is stationary and not at a stupid speed

Just for filtering? Sounds unlikely.

All depends on the Garda you get, some of them haven't a fucking clue and I suspect may be letting their personal prejudice influence their decision to 'do' you. Others are sound, know the craic and use a modicum of common sense when patrolling. You roll the dice and take your chance......and a good solicitor is a handy thing to have, whether you're in the right or not.

I've followed a squad car up the bus lane on the N11 a couple of times, and nothing was said. Have seen bikes pulled a few times on the way home too though but no idea what for. I've used the bus lanes in every day now for well over a year, but maybe I've just been lucky so far

ha! nice one.

Yeah they are stopping bikes filtering through stationary and slow moving traffic on the N11 near bray. Apparently the RSA guidelines on filtering are not in compliance with the road traffic act ..... dont ask me where I heard this

Agree with you 100% on this..... its a shame the cabbages tar the rest of them. I have met a few sound ones, as you said common sense is required when out on patrol.
But this lad was stopped for filtering through stationary and very slow moving traffic. I reckon he couldn't have been going more that 50kmph in a 120kmph zone....bit insane on the popo's part as surely they are more of a danger booting up the hard shoulder with the lights and sirens on in rush hour traffic all to stop some poor lad making progress and not admins "spirited progress" either.

I was pulled for filtering on the N7 by a cop on a bike and told me not to be doing it because it was dangerous. I pointed out that it wasn't illegal and I counted 4 people on their phones as he was following me and he must of seen them.
He ignored that bit and went on about the dangers of filtering.
As he was just finished two bikes went past and he went after them.

The problem with alot of Garda jockies is that they do a few weeks of a training course and then think they know it all.

Some have life long experience on a bike and others have a licence in a few weeks completly unrestricted and are above the law themselves....

I have no problem being told I am acting like a Legend, ps. I love you X if I have been but stopping lads filtering or using a bus lane safely and doing them for a tecnicality is a different story.

So for the moment commuting is shite if they are at that, they are up the Wicklow gap trying to do every fucking biker instead of sorting out our friend in the Leon and if I do get killed they will turn up to court to say I was going to fast as the pair of tits that pulls out cries away their mascare and gets off scot free.

I pay their wages and they should be catching real criminals...

If they're clamping down on filtering I'd better start using the hard shoulder again.

If you're acting the bollox and get seen expect to get pulled... If you are aware of your surroundings and keep it looking respectable it's unlikely you be getting the speel on the side of the road. I can only imagine it, a bandit 6 filtering...probably had the knee down between the traffic
