Default Killarney Bike Fest

Hey Folks,

Few of us are heading over to the west for the long weekend - Going across to Lahinch, Clare, Then on down the coast, do the ring of Kerry and back home through Limerick. We're staying in Killarney one of the nights and just after realising that Killarney Bike Fest is on that weekend.....

What's the general buzz like over the weekend? What's bike security like over night, etc.?

As always any advice appreciated.

Full of quares man so watch out for overtly friendly harley and bandit riders, heard some lad got his drink spiked last year and woke up in a ditch the following morning not knowing what happened until some one showed him a video doing the rounds where he was passed around like a piece of meat.

Don't know if that's true or not, in fact I may have even made it up, just keep your wits about you and you'll be fine though, if anyone says " you sure got a purty mouth " - get outa dodge before nightfall.

Still a few rooms left at the Sheen Falls lodge in Kenmare, a good base to see the sights if you'd rather not roll around in tents that reek of piss and cider, I got a free room there from a guy in Swords, all I have to do is head into bikefest during the feature event and do a rolling burnout on an Indian Scout, while others record a video that could go viral, aiming to make the sixone news.

I'll be there with a fleet of trailers for hire and a flatbed truck with a tail lift. Best weekend of my year, I stay sober and make a killing.

I searched my computer for Harley and Bikefest, and got hundreds of results (obviously) but I've narrowed it down to one of these.

This is a strong contender.

So what yis are saying is - The bikes will be safe because they'll all be too busy riding each other?

Suppose you be bringing the bike down on the back of the trailer as per usual Brendan

Saying that its what you make it, sooooo many Harleys & Beemers, its a good crack all the same, head over the Gap Of Dunloe, down the Black Valley off the beaten track towards Sneem via Ballaghashsheen and Ballaghbeama gaps, enough to give any man a horn

It depends on the weather and if the roads are mucky Cha, I can be a bit fastidious like that, otherwise it's no big deal stopping for petrol every 40miles as it gives the headers time to cool down,. discoloured chrome is frowned upon in competition entries.

Cheers! We've booked an apartment already - Free cancellation on that though until 27th. What ya reckon, would the camp site be a better shout for safety of the bikes and that? The fear would be that we get a little too merry for the trip back the next day at the camp site tho...

Fuck the campsite, yer man can be a bit of a prick, that is if you are taking about the site below and close to the event, the campsite in town is great, probably will rain anyway so stick with the B&B, bikes should be safe once properly locked (and insured)
