Arrow Michael Dunlop to open new Pub

Road racing star Michael Dunlop is embarking on a new business venture in the hospitality industry.

Along with his business partner Maggie McWilliams, the Ballymoney man is planning the major transformation of 'Shenanigans' in Portstewart to become a superpub with two restaurants, five bars, a late-night club and a three-tier beer garden with outdoor bar.

Ms McWilliams has more than 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry in Ireland and Australia.

She said that they are already planning to expand their portfolio.

Ms McWilliams said:
"Portstewart is the heart of the north coast and we want to create a venue which will be unrivalled for exciting new food, creative dining experiences and the best of live entertainment."
The 18-time Isle of Man TT winner added:
"I'll eat steaks and knock back pints as fast as any maun on this Island, and aim to be stripping down GSX-R engines and using dishwashers and highly paid chefs to clean my gearbox parts before the TT, the restaurant business is very seasonal and you can't have these lads standing around talking shyte about recipes when there's bikes to be prepared.
I'll not cook an egg without making a fuck of it so the convenience of a pub with good food, pints and customer service on demand should help with burning the midnight oil rebuilding forks and blown engines without having to drive a MK2 escort home half-steamed.
I asked the lads how comfortable they were about me donning a tie and using big words like munificence and beguilement to sound all corporate to my peers in the hospitality industry and they said if the whole team can't get barred from any pubs again and are allowed into our nightclub free of charge, then it's all good. The accountant even said if they wreck the place; with a bit of fancy footwork and sleight of hand - it can be written off against tax, shir you can't ask for fairer than that.

Brilliant news

Love watching him racing and hes an incredible rider
but family have paid some price for being at the top of racing the roads
say his mam and Gran are thrilled to see him get busy with something else
hope its a huge success for him

Whether he bothers his hole or whether he doesn't, is entirely up to himself and I'd say he hasn't fully made up his own mind yet, but lets keep all the negativity to a minimum and doom & gloom merchants out of this thread please.

It's in the blood

hashtag #youtoo?

It's a kind of art form in itself to get the consistency just right, that's half-way between runny and hard; Altitude, Atmospheric pressure, Air temperature and how fast you eat them after that all important 4-5min magic window will determine the outcome and are hugely important factors to consider that can, and will at the drop of a hat, - all conspire against you.

Think you have it sussed only to learn the heat retention capacity of steel pots can vary wildly in the kitchen, and the actual boiling temperature of water falls as your altitude rises by an exponential amount the further you get from sea level (cos the water gets homesick and unwilling to co-operate) we're talking an extra 36.5 seconds per kilometre on the timer here and that doesn't even take into consideration how quickly you can get the little fuckers out

Mathematical formula for bringing to the boil in a hyperparanoid paraboloid while taking account of subatomic particles in the bubbling wave mechanical model of matrix mechanics at a quantum physics level is the easy part.
