Default Folkestone <-> Holyhead (JULY 2018)

WARNING: there's lots of construction on UK roads between Folkestone and Holyhead, so if you're planning on getting a ferry and going across the UK, allow extra time because you'll be restricted to 50mph in much longer stretches of road than before; and the po-po are in full force (as usual) on overpasses and in unmarked vehicles, along with more "average speed" cameras along the way.

horrendous route, heartache, time consuming etc.

the more you look at it, the UK is just not worth the hassle to go through anymore.

All true, and with Brexit might be even more hassle in upcoming years - which is a shame, as I really suffer on the 18hr ferry direct to France.
