Motorbike: ZZR1400 Gen 1
Default Anyone know this ZZR

So i'm thinking of changing the XJR for a ZZR. Its always been a bike on the bucket list and i think if i don't go for it now i never will.

I've been admiring this one in Meskells in limerick simply because i just want to trade my own in against it and save me the hassle selling it privately.
https://www.donedeal.ie/motorbikes-f...kells/17819179

Any thoughts on the ZZR. I'm a little concerned about the reach on the bike with me being only 5'9" on a good day.

I've considered the busa's and blackbird's but i'm just drawn to the ZZR.

Cheers

Ya i was also looking at that. Luggage is a big plus. "considerably" Cheap is right. Nearly too cheap you'd have to wonder. anyone know this one. If it was solid i would definitely be interested.

I found the ZZR to be very comfortable. I'm 6 foot though. The thing was a rocket ship compared to my 990; super fast.

The only thing is that the cheaper one's wheels have been painted (a popular mod). Maybe that's all that was painted but worth looking into whether or not somewhere else was painted and if so, for what reason.

The more expensive one has a paint job that I don't think is standard to the 09 model also. I might be wrong.

the only issue id have with a big high miler bike is that consumables like brake discs would be worn, not badly, but could need replacing in another few thousand miles, depending on the usage they got - the zzr is a big fast heavy bike.

also, id want a FSH - but being ireland, the chances of that are probably zero - hence why i always go north or across the water.

this one in tipp is at 10k:

https://www.donedeal.ie/motorbikes-f...-1400/18264602

maybe over your budget, but defo worth stumping up the few quid, newer model, few extras and looks clean (?)

Ya that one in Tipp is a smashing looking machine but yes a little outside my budget. Haven't found out much about that one in Meskells just been fully services and new pads. Had a very quick look at it and discs looked ok. I'm gonna take it for a spin over the weekend.

I think that paint job is down as the Performance model but that's only from a quick google search.

Very happy with my 09 14 . Very fast very capable road bike . I was lucky to pick
one up a couple of years ago with 10k on it for handy money from a local lad who diddnt trust himself not to lse his licence / liberty riding it .
He bought it as a very low mile US import form Paul Greany ( PG Motorcycles ) in Cork
. I think PG has another one, well worth a look !

Actually a few have mentioned to me that Paul Greany has a couple of ZZR's but he's slow to update his website. I'll have to try get out to him during the week. Heard very good things about him over the years but never dealt with him.

Paul actually puts a reasonable price on his bikes especially for a dealer, he is a sound skin.
