After trying the usual air gun, followed by an extension bar, then a heat gun, no joy.
We then settled on a plan, whilst I was sat on the bike holding it steady the two lads went at it again, this time with a 6 foot scaffolding pipe on the end of the extension bar (I'm not exaggerating). Bastard thing was stuck solid. They guys didn't want to try any more force for fear of breaking the bike or injuring someone.

After much head scratching, it was decided to go to the local Truck DOE test centre just outside Drogheda to see if they had the machinery capable of getting the nut loose. I rolled up, got some very strange looks as I explained to the lads there my predicament. A minute later a lad comes out with the biggest fucking rattle gun I'd ever fucking seen, it was twice the size of a large fire extinguisher..

"You'd better sit on the bike and hold it steady because this thing could flip your bike over backwards - we use it on the truck wheels that are REALLY stuck"

RAT TAT TAT TAT TAT TAT TAT TAT TAT TAT for a good thirty seconds before the bastard nut loosened. Threw the dude a tenner, popped back to RPM and got the new tyre on.
140? Sure that's nothing! The 1199 is 230/240 and the superduke 250!
Just had a fun time taking the rear wheel off the ducati - jumping on a breaker bar didn't do it and I spent an hour with a 400nm rated impact wrench.
Eventually nicked a 6 foot pole and stuck it on the breaker. Got somebody to sit on the bike holding both brakes and it finally went!
Super fun times

The torque on the nut broke the wheel

Ireally, Your right and I think Fabrizios team used a previously crashed wheel. Cash strapped

Of all the places in Donington he was lucky it happened there tbh. If it was a full chat down into craner curves it could have been nasty

Backed the bike up against wall in garage. Bike on sidestand. Cable tied rear brake on.

46mm special socket for Ducati nut, breaker bar and the satelite pole.
Oh and a good spray of Lidl anti rust spray

Had to give a few smacks of the lump hammer to break the seal of the nut.

Thanks to Stewy in Cotters for whipping the tyres and bearings out of both sets of wheels for me.

All 4 wheels now with Steph @ SD Designs for painting new colours.

Decided to go for paint instead of powdercoat.

The original stand comes with a small bar that goes through the wheel and locks it .
