Default Abolishing Daylight Saving

The time for submissions for abolishing day light saving (putting the clock back in winter) has nearly expired.

Dont know about the rest of you, but personally I think putting the clocks back during winter is ludicrous. Having that extra hour of daylight in the evenings would make a huge improvement to road safety, especially bikers.
As a biker that commutes the whole year round on my motorcycle abolishing the daylight saving would be very welcome.

You can fill out a very short online questionnaire that will take no more that two minutes. If enough EU citizens vote then we can force this change.

An American Indian heard about this and said "only a white man could cut the top off a blanket and sow it on the bottem then say he had a longer blanket"
I personally hate having to ajust to it every 6 months.

If they abolish daylight saving that'll mean the Winter stays as is, and we lose the extra hours daylight in the Summer - no ?

Never, it was a wartime effort to maximize use of daylight hours in winter.

No. You didnt do the questionaire
click the link and get to it

If you do the questionnaire you are asked this, stay on winter time or stay on summer time. the majority so far want to stay on summertime and thats what most governments are supporting, the option where we get an extra hours daylight in the evening during winters

(I have probably got this arseways, but you know what I mean)

What I never understood is why the clocks change approximately 50 days before the shortest day but change back approx 90 days after.

I would prefer if we stick to the summer time for the whole year. That is GMT+1. It's much easier to everyone, especially kids, and we have enough tech now to be able to get to work/school in winter an hour earlier than what we do now. It will make it safer in the evening as well.

However, it's not going to be practical to implement unless it's an EU wide thing. Imagine the confusion if UK stays GMT and we are GMT+1 during winter months.

I think that'd be fun! It'll feel like I've gone rightly abroad when I've to set me watch even though I've only gone to Brighton to see me mate!

We don't put the clocks back in Winter; we put them forward in the Summer . I vote for keeping the longer summer evenings.

A lot of people probably stay on in bed an hour longer during weekends and holidays than they do on work days/school days.

It will be better if they can enjoy the extra hour daylight in the evenings
than when they are asleep.

So we might as well go the whole hog .
