So he stripped down two bikes and handed over loads of money to other people to sort it out.

I would rather have the original bike and fix it up or just ride the new one instead, fun project alright when someone else pay you to do it though

what a complete waste of time and money.

He had a 1st gen wanted it be be like the latest gen so went out and bought one.
surely the story should stop there. instead he destroys two good bikes to make one.

I think he kinda sums it up with this, and plus he got paid to do it.
