Ditto, I've a quick action throttle on my K5 SV and I don't find it lumpy at all, something off there. Have you ridden any other bikes that you can compare to?

I was on an R6 within a year of starting on bikes, and I've been on it every day for over a year since. As long as you're sensible you'll be grand.

I sold my sv650s for the exact same reason - like an on/off switch negotiating slow roundabouts. Unpleasant. Especially as you are stretched out a bit on them. Lovely power delivery out of bends alright.

I then got a Suzuki 650 single and it was more or less the same on roundabouts. Got rid of it too.

Vertical twins or straight fours are more practical if you use the bike regularly.

600's are little animals, I swear my gixxer felt faster than the Ducati I have now ,when you wind them up fuck me. Get a 600 going to a 1000 is retarded, you wind them up and the front wheel just starts lifting, absolutely pointless on the roads

I totally disagree with this. A bike will only go as fast as you make it go, and 100kmh on a 600 is just as fast as 100kmh on a 1000, except you'll have a lot more comfort on a thou.
I'm not saying don't get a 600, but if you want a 1000, get a 1000, they're not the evil killing machines some people seem to suggest they are.

Yeah fair enough, only shot I've had on one was a mates 2011 blade, I pulled the throttle and it power wheelies in every single gear . It will only go as fast as you drive it but unless your gonna use it I don't see the point of them tbh, the power between it and the 600 was insane, I joined the m50 and was doing like 250kmh in a few seconds, I wouldn't get one I'd be banned or killed in a second

Jesus you must weigh about 2 stone.
You have to learn that the throttle isn't an on/off switch. There are several positions between fully closed and fully open.
But coming from an 899, I can see why you'd think a blade was so powerful

Without something amiss an SV650 is anything but lumpy. It will teach you the lesson of progressive positive throttle through a curve though, which seems to be the ops problem here.

If it's a bike for looks.
Just buy what you really like the look of.

If you go big c.c.
Remember that the throttle works 2 ways.

Good luck and be safe.
