You borrow Say 4000 off them...then you pay them back the 4000 plus interest over an agreed period.

But is the interest just kind of robbing? Are You owner of the item from day 1?
Hard to get it? Shops like buyers with it?

Any money thats easily handed out normally carries high APR,especially small amounts like shops deal with. Only way you'll get concrete answers with facts and figures is to apply for a loan and see. But in my opinion any of these "flexi fi" or "sunny day loans" or "amigo" are all cnts and best avoided. But that's my opinion.

It varies by store, so for example Megabikes use the following:

Payment Plans available at Megabikes*
No Interest ever payment plan available on purchases of €80 - €499.99

5 equal payments. 1st payment upfront and 4 equal fortnightly payments

Low Interest payment plan available on purchases of €500 - €999.99

Spread the cost over 6 to 12 months. €10 application fee & €1 monthly account keeping fee & 3.99% interest

Interest Bearing payment plan on purchases of €1,000 - €15,000

Spread the cost over 24 or 36 months. 6.99% interest bearing rate. €35 application fee, €3.50 monthly account keeping fee.
