Default Pug speedflight 2 issues

How's it going guys?

Mate from work was given a Peugeot Speedflight 2 last month for free. He is wanting to use it for the 3 mile run to work instead of using his Tiger for the short trip.

So it sat in a garage for about two years, we changed the plug, fuel filter air filter. It has an inline filter coming from the two-stroke oil tank so we changed that as well, put some fresh fuel in it and after a bit of a struggle it came to life, with lots of white smoke coming from the exhaust.

It runs for about 5 min then dies, and won't start again.

When we take out the plug it is drenched in black oil. If we clean the plug it will run again. We changed the plug for a new one just in case it was faulty. Still the same issue.

Any recommendations on what to do next?

Cheers
Slinkey

Is it 2 stroke? Exhaust could be clogged.

It is just need to be cleaned. 1st of all remove carburator, just take it apart in one box and clean it with petrol... Put everything back how it was... Once it is running, rev it up (nothing bad will happen) to push that dirt out from cyl.

There is no need to change piston and rings if scooter have only 5k on clock and this won't fix the problem...

Right lads. My mate took the cylinder head off.... he still hasn't told me why lol I've attached a pic of it. Taking the carb off this weekend and going to give it and the cylinder head a good clean.

Once you put it back in place, do two or three times starting for 15 sec but without spark to blow that dirt out...
