Last two evenings I've turned what should be a 25km commute between Daingean and Portarlington into a 120km detour through the surrounding counties. Got properly lost this evening, but stumbled onto some lovely little sections of bends along the way. I eventually emerged from the wilds near the Curragh and pointed it for home at that stage.

Gotta make the most of the good weather when it makes an appearance.

I'm with you Pedro. Notched up a few miles myself the last two days of nice weather, passing through Daingean, Edenderry via the Irish Parachute Club near Clonbollouge. Loop through Killeigh, Mountmellick, Portarlington, Geashill, Tullamore another day. Blueball, Shannonbridge, Ballycumber, Clara, Killbeggan yesterday and rounded it off with a circuit around the Slieveblooms via Birr, Roscrea, Mountrath, Portlaoise. Make hay while the sun shines

Ha! Been on most of those roads lately myself Kaza.

Clonaslee to Kinnity, via the gap, and on into Mountrath is a bit of a giggle.

Some nice roads to be found in the midlands, certainly not too hard to come up with a half decent loop for an evening's enjoyment.

Portarlington, Portlaoise, Stradbally and then onto Carlow is another joy. Then back through Athy & Monasterevin is nice enough too.

Old road between Mullingar and Kilbeggan (race course road) and then onto Clara is worth a look too.
